Jurgen Klopp hits out at TNT Sports as Liverpool boss vows to ‘never watch’ channel again

In an explosive press conference on Friday, Jurgen Klopp heavily criticized TNT Sports, stating that he would no longer tune in to the channel.

With only three games remaining in his time at Anfield, Klopp took the opportunity to discuss the upcoming match against Spurs.

He strongly objected to the English football schedule, pointing to the recent period where his team played eight games in just 23 days as proof of the excessive workload placed on players in the Premier League.

He has frequently expressed his dissatisfaction with Saturday 12:30 kick-offs, a sentiment echoed by his captain, Virgil van Dijk. Klopp launched a scathing attack on TNT Sports, even jokingly suggesting that Amnesty International should intervene due to the “crime” of the TV schedule demands.

He claimed that his team often has the shortest intervals between matches and called for TNT to remove him from their list of subscribers as he vowed not to watch again.

Klopp emphasized that while the Premier League is widely regarded as the best league globally, he believes the players are overworked.

He criticized the notion that broadcasters like TNT contribute more to football than they receive, asserting that football actually funds them.

He expressed disbelief at the scheduling decisions that result in quick turnarounds between games, such as Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday at 12:30, and humorously remarked that he would like to witness the decision-making process firsthand.

Despite his frustration, Klopp acknowledged the success of broadcasters like TNT and Sky, but maintained that the current scheduling practices are unreasonable. He concluded by offering his services as a pundit if needed, highlighting his proficiency in English.
