Raheem Sterling had his ‘payslip’ leaked after ‘leaving in his car at a garage

Raheem Sterling’s alleged payslip was purportedly leaked online, offering a glimpse into the hefty earnings of top-tier footballers.

Football’s lucrative nature, especially in major leagues, is widely acknowledged, often accompanied by media reports detailing player salaries.

Some leagues even officially disclose salary figures. In 2019, it seemed Sterling’s payslip was inadvertently left in his car and subsequently shared online.

While the authenticity of the document remains unconfirmed, it displayed Sterling’s basic pay, loyalty bonus, and a substantial tax obligation of £5.4 million.

Sterling, a standout player for Manchester City at the time, left the club in 2022 for Chelsea in a £47.5 million transfer. Throughout his career, he amassed impressive statistics, including 339 appearances for City, scoring 131 goals, and clinching numerous titles and trophies.

At Chelsea, he continued to make significant contributions, appearing 78 times and scoring 17 goals.

Despite an extravagant spending spree, Chelsea’s performance has been lackluster, finishing 12th last season and currently sitting ninth. Raheem Sterling has found himself sidelined under Mauricio Pochettino’s management, prompting speculation about his future.

Darren Bent suggests that if Sterling seeks regular playing time, he may need to consider moving to a lower-ranked team. While some top clubs may not be viable options due to his past associations, Bent believes there are still Premier League teams interested in his talent.

West Ham could be a potential destination, although competition for positions exists. The question remains: at what level would Sterling need to join to secure a starting role?
