Simon Jordan rips into Mohamed Salah labelling him a “fair weather player”

Amid speculation about his Liverpool future and interest from Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Salah has faced criticism from former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan, who described him as a “fair weather player.”

Salah, a key figure for Liverpool since his arrival in 2017, is approaching the final year of his contract. However, his recent form has been underwhelming, evident by his absence from the starting lineup in a crucial match against West Ham.

This uncertainty surrounding Salah’s contract status and performance has left Liverpool fans questioning what lies ahead for the talented forward.

Jordan characterizes Salah as a “fair weather player.”

The 31-year-old was recently involved in a touchline dispute with Jurgen Klopp at the London Stadium as he was about to come on as a substitute.

Further intensifying speculation, Salah remarked, “if I speak there will be fire” while passing through the mixed zone.

Despite rumors, it’s reported that Salah intends to remain at Anfield beyond this summer and has shown no inclination to depart.

Jordan, acknowledging that his remarks would provoke Liverpool fans, expressed his belief that Salah doesn’t quite live up to the hype.

In an interview with talkSPORT, Jordan questioned whether speculation over Salah’s future would exist if Klopp’s tenure at Liverpool was indefinite.

Despite anticipating backlash for his views, Jordan openly criticized Salah, stating, “I’m not a fan of Mo Salah. I don’t think he’s as good as people make him out to be. I think he dives, I think he can be a fair weather player.”

“I know this will sound ludicrous to some and will undoubtedly make me unpopular, but it’s my honest opinion.

While Salah has undoubtedly scored numerous goals, when faced with adversity, some players rise to the occasion while others falter. I have a feeling that Salah may fall into the latter category. It’s just my opinion.”

Despite his dip in form towards the end of the season, Salah remains Liverpool’s top scorer this season, tallying 24 goals in 41 appearances, including 17 in the Premier League.
