Saudi Arabia make offer for major Liverpool star with contract expiring in 2025

Al-Qadsiah, a Saudi Arabian club, is eager to secure the signature of Liverpool’s captain, Virgil Van Dijk, as the Dutch defender’s contract with Anfield expires in 2025.

Sports Zone reports the Saudis’ interest in the center-back and their impressive offer for the 32-year-old. Currently leading the Saudi second division, the Middle Eastern team is poised to join the Saudi Pro League next season, aiming to make a significant statement with Van Dijk’s potential signing.

With Van Dijk’s contract set to expire in 2025, this summer presents an opportune moment for Liverpool to consider selling the center-back if he opts against renewing his deal.

Amidst speculation surrounding Jurgen Klopp’s departure at the end of the season, Van Dijk’s future at Liverpool has come under scrutiny, with reported interest from Borussia Dortmund, as well as clubs in Spain, Turkey, Italy, and Holland, according to The Mirror.

Arne Slot, the incoming manager at Liverpool, is determined to keep Virgil van Dijk at the club.

As Feyenoord’s current boss prepares to lead Liverpool next season, securing a new deal for Van Dijk will be among his top priorities. Despite being 32 years old, Van Dijk remains one of the premier center-backs globally, showing minimal signs of decline.

His influential presence both on and off the field makes him indispensable to the current Liverpool squad, a fact that Slot recognizes. With a Dutch coach at the helm, Liverpool’s chances of retaining Van Dijk are bolstered.

Despite outside interest in the player, it appears unlikely that Van Dijk will depart Anfield anytime soon, given his integral role in the team and Slot’s desire to keep him.
