Graeme Souness launches scathing attack on Mohamed Salah, “most selfish player I have ever witnessed”

Liverpool icon Graeme Souness has strongly criticized Mohamed Salah, branding him as the “most self-centered player I’ve ever seen.

” Salah’s tenure at Anfield has been questioned, fueled by interest from Saudi Arabia and a sideline altercation with Jurgen Klopp during the recent 2-2 draw against West Ham. Although speculation swirls around his future, recent reports suggest Liverpool anticipate Salah staying for at least another season.

Despite being one of Liverpool’s standout players this season, Salah’s form has dipped recently, leading to him being benched.

With 17 Premier League goals in 29 appearances, he remains the club’s top scorer. However, with his contract expiring in 2025, Liverpool faces a decision regarding his future.

While there are signs that the club wants him to stay for at least another season, Souness is convinced that Salah will depart in the summer.

Souness predicts Salah’s departure from Liverpool, stating in William Hill’s Three Up Front podcast, “I believe Mohamed Salah is off and leaving Liverpool.

He has been fabulous for Liverpool, but if he leaves to the Saudi Pro League, then he’ll be the biggest star in that part of the world.”

Souness suggests that Salah holds a high opinion of himself and was likely upset at not starting against West Ham. He believes the confrontation with Jurgen Klopp stemmed more from Salah’s frustration than Klopp’s decision.

Souness goes on to criticize Salah’s perceived selfishness, noting that even before the West Ham incident, Salah was never happy when substituted.

He asserts that while such ambition is desirable in players, Salah’s focus on personal achievements may overshadow team objectives.
